If you are new to NOMAD, please make sure to read our website thoroughly and attend an info session.
Please note, the Spring 2018 Semester will be broken down as follows:
Mondays & Wednesdays - Humanities (cohort 1)
Tuesdays & Thursdays - Humanities (cohort 2)
Monday & Wednesdays - STEM (cohort 1)
Tuesdays & Thursdays - STEM (cohort 2)
Fridays - Maker Day (Open Workshop, Passion Projects, and Arts)
ATTEND AN info session
We've found the best way to learn about NOMAD is to meet one family at a time. We invite your family to join us for a personalized info session! You and your student will get to meet the team, learn about our program, see The Depot (our maker space), and ask questions specific to your student and family. All sessions are held at The Depot located at 2592 Folsom St in the Mission District. To schedule an info session, click on the 'Request An Info Session' button below. How to apply
We are still accepting applications for the Spring 2018 Semester! We do not give priority based on the date we receive your application, though we do give priority to current NOMAD families. Applications can be submitted online. Click the button below to start the application process.
WHO SHOULD APPLY
NOMAD is a middle-school aged program open to students aged 10-13. Advanced students who are younger than our age requirement will be considered on an individual basis.
Tuition for NOMAD Custom-School students is as follows for the 2018 Spring Semester:
1 day/wk (Maker Day only) is $0 - $2,500
2 days/wk (STEM or Humanities only) is $0 - $5,000
3 days/wk (STEM or Humanities + Maker Day) is $0 - $7,500
4 days/wk (STEM + Humanities) is $0 - $10,000
5 days/wk (Full Time Schooling) is $0 - 12,500
NOMAD feels very strongly that the only way to educate is within a diverse group. Diversity of thought, experience, interest, ability and identity are crucial to creating a robust learning experience. As a way to ensure socio-economic diversity, we offer flex tuition, known as Tuition Adjustment, to bring tuition cost down for families for whom paying higher-cost tuition is not possible.
Though Tuition Adjustment is limited, making NOMAD affordable for as many families as possible is a top priority. As such, we adjust tuition cost as best we can to allow families to pay a tuition they can afford. Because our Tuition Adjustment funds are limited, we offer adjustment on a first-come, first-served basis.
The cost of your family's adjusted tuition will be determined by financial information submitted through the National Association of Independent Schools and consideration of the high cost of living in the Bay Area as well as NOMAD's operating costs.
Please review our Tuition Adjustment Policy info sheet before submitting an application for Tuition Adjustment. All families who would like to pay less than the max tuition must fill out a Tuition Adjustment Online Application (linked below).

Notification Dates, deposits and Enrollment
Acceptance letters will be sent on December 15th, 2017 for the Spring 2018 Semester, and then on an on-going rolling admissions basis. A non-refundable 10% tuition deposit is due within 2 weeks of the receipt of an acceptance letter or email to secure your student's enrollment.
We will happily place you on our wait list for future programs if we aren't able to offer admission for the Spring Semester.
