Our Day in Court
We weren't allowed to take photographs in the court sessions we sat in on, but after a few complicated, jargony, slow-moving cases, we met with a magistrate judge who told us about his job, the court, and the difference between state and federal court. Our tired expressions give it all away - patiently sitting through the monotony of court is difficult!! Our experience put things into perspective... We saw closing arguments for a case that had lasted 17 YEARS!
The whole group! Other homeschool families joined for the day as well.
We were able to tour the judge's chambers. Not bad for an office.
Our day at the courthouse ended with a few presentations by lawyers and a Deputy US Marshal as part of the career speakers program.
